Synergy: Business Facilitation Conclave 2025-26
Synergy and Business Facilitation Conclave 2025-26 inaugurated today at Srijani Hall, Durgapur. Synergy is a flagship programme of the State Government aimed at addressing issues of MSMEs in a comprehensive and participatory manner. With the inspiration of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the programme is organized every year either at district level or at regional level, taking two or more adjacent districts together. Today’s event was organized combining four district Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman, Bankura and Purulia.

Today’s Synergy was inaugurated and presided by Sri Chandranath Sinha, Hon’ble MIC, MSME & Textiles & Correctional Administration Deptt. The Chairperson and inaugurator of the event, and other distinguished guests shared their views on the initiatives taken by the State Government for the industrial development of the State. They highlighted the achievements of Bengal’s MSME sector, and also discussed the industrial diversity of the four districts — Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman, Bankura and Purulia— particularly the variety and uniqueness of the MSME sector in each district. They also shed light on the bright prospects of industrial development in these districts in the days to come.

The Additional Chief Secretary of MSME & Textiles Dept., in his deliberations, spoke about the background of Synergy event, its impact and highlighted the significant role played by MSMEs over the years in the economic development of the state. He specifically mentioned about the present industrial scenario of these four districts and marquee reforms undertaken by various departments to ensure ease of doing business in the state. Reminding the objective of the event, he mentioned that the clearance of pre-establishment and pre-operation statutory applications in a time-bound manner is crucial for industries and enterprises. He said that this issue would be given utmost importance at the synergy event. He also informed that the status of various statutory applications pending for different reasons is being reviewed, and approvals are being granted. wherever possible through successive rounds of discussions with district administrations and officials of the concerned departments for their speedy disposal. He also mentioned that a comprehensive review of these applications is being conducted in a meeting held on the day prior to the Synergy programme. He highlighted the present industrial scenario of Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman, Bankura and Purulia, state government’s initiative for cluster and mega cluster development, green firecrackers, scheme for employment generation as well as scheme for artisans and weavers and requested the entrepreneurs to come up with new ideas for investment with state government support and facilitation.

More than 450 entrepreneurs from different areas of Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman, Bankura and Purulia districts participated. Total 25 help desks were set up by the major departments viz. Land, Labour, Fire, SWID, Power, Pollution etc as well as for one-to-one interaction, trouble shooting and providing clarifications on issues faced by the entrepreneurs. Around 300 entrepreneurs visited various help desks to discuss their issues, learn about the required documents, procedures, and processes, and received the necessary assistance and solutions. According to reports collected from industry associations, and entrepreneurs, an amount of Rs. 5,600 crores will likely to be invested in the industrial sector in these four districts in the coming years, with an employment potential of 18,000 to 20,000 people (Paschim Bardhaman – Rs. 350cr; Purba Bardhaman – Rs. 590 cr; Bankura- Rs. 4,590 cr; Purulia- Rs. 90 cr. During the April-June quarter in 2025-26, the combined Bank Credit in these four districts stands at Rs. 5,158 cr (Paschim Bardhaman – Rs. 3,879 cr; Purba Bardhaman – Rs. 1,909 cr; Bankura-Rs. 696 cr; Purulia- Rs. 474 cr). From the platform of the event, statutory clearances/approvals, bank loan, schematic benefit etc. have been handed to around 36 entrepreneurs of Paschim bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman, Bankura and Purulia districts.
