Siuri Railway Station redeveloped Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Indian Railways has undertaken a major initiative for the redevelopment and modernization of railway stations across the country. The scheme aims to upgrade stations with improved passenger amenities, better accessibility and modern infrastructure to meet present and future requirements.
As part of this initiative, Siuri Railway Station, an important station under Asansol Division of Eastern Railway, has been redeveloped with enhanced passenger facilities. Siuri serves the town of Siuri, the district headquarters of Birbhum district in West Bengal, and acts as an important administrative and commercial centre of the region.
The redevelopment work at Siuri station has been completed at a cost of about ?5 crore. The upgraded station now features an improved façade of the station building, improved parking facilities and a better circulating area for smoother passenger movement. The works also include improved platform shelters and platform surfaces, installation of modern signages, provision of Train Indication Boards and Coach Indication Boards, installation of a lift for passenger convenience and beautification of the station premises.
Murals and paintings reflecting local art and culture have also been installed at the station. These improvements are expected to enhance passenger convenience, provide better station access and support smooth movement of passengers.
The redevelopment of Siuri station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme will contribute to improved railway infrastructure in the region and support the overall development of the surrounding areas.
