Sanitation Drive Conducted at NIT Durgapur

A sanitation drive was successfully organized at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur under the leadership of Prof. Arvind Choubey, Hon’ble Director and Head of the Institute. In view of some disruption in cleaning services on campus , Demonstrating hands-on leadership, Prof. Choubey personally led the campaign route from the Student Activity Center (SAC) to various hostels, motivating participants and inspecting cleanliness efforts along the way.
 
The initiative brought together NSS volunteers and several student organizations, including the Student Gymkhana, Think India, and Darpan. Participants actively cleaned the hostel premises and surrounding areas while also spreading awareness about hygiene and proper waste management practices. 
Prof. Choubey along with his admin team , Shri Sanjay Kumar , Registrar, Dean Student Welfare, Associate Deans, Faculty advisor Gymkhana, and other student-clubs, Chief warden, wardens of different hostels, also visited hostels during the drive to encourage students and boost their morale, emphasizing the importance of maintaining clean living spaces. His active involvement inspired greater participation and enthusiasm among the volunteers. The drive not only improved the campus environment but also strengthened students' collective responsibility, teamwork, and civic awareness.
This drive got the support not only from the students and faculty but also from officers and staff.
