POWERGRID: 1.1 MW on-grid rooftop solar plant at NIT Durgapur under its CSR initiative

POWERGRID has handed over a 1.1 MW on-grid rooftop solar plant to NIT Durgapur under its CSR initiative on 20.05.2026.
The project, costing ?450.62 lakh, features a 1.1 MW rooftop solar photovoltaic plant. Since its installation, the plant has generated 564 MWh of clean energy in five months. It is expected to generate approximately 1,411 MWh to 1,596 MWh of clean energy annually, leading to estimated annual electricity savings of around ?1.18 crore. The project is also expected to reduce approximately 1,200 metric tons of CO? emissions every year, which is equivalent to planting around 30,000 trees.
