Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate today organised an interactive awareness session at Durgapur for representatives of hotels, lodges, guest houses and other hospitality establishments across the Commissionerate.
The session focused on the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and highlighted the crucial role of the hospitality sector in safeguarding children from sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking.
Participants were sensitised to identify suspicious situations involving children, maintain vigilance, preserve relevant records and promptly report any suspected offence to the police, in accordance with the law.
The Commissionerate also appealed to all hospitality establishments to become active partners in creating a safe environment for children by promoting responsible practices and ensuring timely reporting of suspicious activities.
