Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri in Durgapur for DAV Model School Golden Jubilee

Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri, President of the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, and Chief of the Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, is  arriving Durgapur today along with his wife, Mrs. Mani Suri, to grace the Golden Jubilee celebrations of DAV Model School, Durgapur.

In the evening, he will address nearly 1,500 teachers of DAV institutions of the West Bengal Zone at the NIT Durgapur auditorium. He will be accompanied by Dr. Nisha Peshin, Director (Public Schools & Academies), DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi.

The programme will be attended by Mr. S. K. Pal, Chairman of the Local Managing Committee, Mr. N. K. Mohanta, Manager, other committee members, and principals of all DAV Institutions of West Bengal Zone.

Founded in 1975 with only three classrooms, three teachers, and thirty students, DAV Model School, Durgapur has today emerged as a leading institution with nearly 6,000 students and about 250 teachers.

The Golden Jubilee celebrations, which began last year, will conclude on Saturday, 10th January, with a 251-kund Mahayajna, Art Exhibition- The Bengal Odyssey(a heritage exhibition of West Bengal) and cultural programmes in the gracious presence of Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri, Mani Suri, and Dr. Nisha Peshin. Sir President will also lay the foundation stone of Mahatma Anand Swami Block, a new architectural brilliance to add the infrastructural glory of the school.

Expressing her pride, Principal cum Regional Officer of DAV Institutions, West Bengal Zone, Mrs. Papiya Mukherjee, said that the school stands as a symbol of excellence, nurturing students through a harmonious blend of Vedic values, modern scientific education, and holistic co-curricular development.
