NIT Durgapur Triumphs at All India Inter NIT Yoga Championship in Nagpur
Bringing immense pride to the institute, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur has emerged as the champion of the All India Inter NIT Yoga(Women) Championship 2025, held at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, from November 1 to 3, 2025.

This year’s tournament saw participation from 22 NITs across the country, competing in multiple sporting events including handball, lawn tennis, and yoga. Among the 19 women’s yoga teams that took part, NIT Durgapur’s remarkable performance stood out, earning them the top spot in the competition.

Led by Captain Aishwarya Mohan, the team featured Puja Tapan Basuli (3rd Year),MandritaMaji(2nd year),SuhaniVishwakarma(2nd year),Sneha Bairagi(1st year). Their graceful postures, synchronization, and composure impressed the judges and audience alike, reflecting months of consistent practice and dedication.

On addition to the Honour of the institute,Mandrita Maji a team member received the best performer award among all the participating girls and adding a huge contribution to the team on NIT Durgapur

Director Prof. Arvind Choubey, Coach Ella De, and SAS Officer Mr. Hillol Mukherjee. Prof Kalyan Adhikary, DSW and Dr. Deepak Kumar, Associate DSW were also present on this occasion.Â

Prof. Choubey lauded the students for their determination and teamwork. Mr. Mukherjee expressed his appreciation for the team’s effort in representing the institute with excellence and spirit.

The team, in turn, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Director, Coach, SAS Officer and faculty members for their constant encouragement and guidance.Â
