There has been a stir in Durgapur over the NIA raid on a person's house. On Monday morning, officials of the National Investigation Agency reached the house of a person in the New Steel Park area adjacent to the main gate of Durgapur. The area was surrounded by central forces and a search was started.

According to sources, the NIA has been investigating the international human trafficking ring case for quite some time. In the interest of that investigation, this morning, some investigating officers from the agency's headquarters raided the house of a person named Golam Rabbani in the New Steel Park area adjacent to the main gate of Durgapur.

According to local sources, Ghulam Rabbani came to Durgapur from Muzaffarpur in Bihar three years ago. He then started living in the house with his wife and two sons.

Incidentally, this is not the first time that the NIA has conducted a raid in the state in connection with a human trafficking case. A few years ago, three people were arrested during a search operation in some areas of North 24 Parganas.
