The alleged rape of a minor girl in the name of Tantra Sadhana has created a stir in the Boxirhat police station area of ??Cooch Behar on 24th september tuesday. Tension has been rising in the area since 25th september Wednesday till now. Locals have been protesting by burning tires demanding the hanging of the accused.

 

It is learnt from local sources that on 24th september Tuesday night around 10 pm, a woman from the village went to her neighbour's house and called their 12-year-old minor girl. She said that she was taking her for Tantra Sadhana. After this, the minor girl was taken into a room. Allegedly, a local youth was already in the house. The minor girl was allegedly raped there. The accused youth fled the house after the incident. Later, the minor girl returned home crying. The victim's family claims that when she was asked, she told them about the rape.

 

The police started an investigation based on the complaint of the minor's family. According to sources, the accused youth was arrested on 24th september Tuesday night. The minor's family alleged that the woman claimed to the neighbors that she was learning Tantra. A virgin girl was needed to test Tantra Sadhana. Saying this, the victim was called from the house. The minor's mother trusted the woman and sent her minor daughter with his son. However, after reaching home, the woman took the minor girl to a room alone. She kept her brother outside. Allegedly, the minor girl was raped inside that room. Later, seeing her sister coming out crying, her brother informed the family and neighbors. The woman and her husband have been absconding since the incident.

 

Regarding the incident, Tufanganj Sub-divisonal Police Officer Manoj Kumar said that "a rape complaint has been filed. Based on the complaint, the police have also arrested one person. The accused woman and her husband, the neighbor against whom the complaint was filed, are still absconding. A serious police search is going on to nab them."
