The annual awards ceremony of Julien Day School, Julien Educational Trust, 2026,took place with a lot of glitz and glamour at a full house, in EZCC auditorium, Saltlake, on the 25th of April 2026.
The photographer of the evening was Sayantan Sasmal, a prospective student of Class 10, from Julien Day School, Kalyani.
Among the many distinguished guests, who had gathered under one roof, by the warm invitation of Julien Day Group, the evergreen Managing Trustee, Mrs. S. E. Broughton, the dynamic Chairman Mr. J. G. Broughton, and Mr Terrence John-Director of Education and Development, we had Actor/Activist/ Teacher of Method Acting, Mr. Bobby Chakraborty as one of the chief guest, who graced the evening with his charismatic presence and also gave away prizes to worthy students and deserving teachers, from all 4 branches of Kolkata, Kalyani, Ganganagar and Howrah, who had excelled in their field of academics, sports. creativity, other CO-curriculor activities. More than 106 awards. were given out during this spectacular ceremony.
A special and proud moment was created when Bobby handed over ‘the best actor's award' to Sampurna Mukherjee, a student(class 12 pass out) from JDS Kalyani, who has learnt acting from Bobby himself, since she was a 3rd grader.
The 96 year old wonder woman, respected Mrs. S. E. Broughton (Managing Trustee) was also present with all her energy and enthusiasm. The scintillating evening was co-hosted by Mr Richard Green and Mr. J. G. Broughton with their trademark wit and candour.
The award ceremony had magnificent and colourful dance performances from the students of all the 4 branches, on live music performed by the eclectic Julien Day School Band, 'Julienite' ,comprising of teachers and students.
Their opening and closing song ‘Heal the World’ and ‘We are the World' set the tone of the event,as it strongly promoted ‘WORLD PEACE’ , which is much needed in today’s global turbulence.
There was also the prestigious 'Mr & Ms Julienite' fashion contest, themed on the various global tribal communities, judged by Mr. Bobby Chakraborty and others, which was won by Debraj Tapna and Soumyashree Das, from the Howrah and Kolkata branch respectively. The overall winner of the year was Julien Day School-Kalyani and the runners up trophy went to Ganganagar.
