Free Police Totos carrying veterans to Puja Pandals

Elderly citizen face difficulties while visiting the puja pandals each year. But in Bankura, the veterans, however, had a different experience this year after the police extended hands of cooperation with a cordial touch. 
 
On the occasion of Durga Puja, one special arrangement has been made by the Indpur Police Station exclusively for the transportation of the aged and sick persons, which is absolutely at 'no cost'. The arrangement has earned mass appreciation, and the residents have expressed their 'gratitude' to the police authorities.
 
Elderly couple of Indpur, Sumita Ghosh and Chandan Ghosh are suffering from ageing problems. They said: "We visited pandals after almost four years this time and it was really so fascinating." Seventy year old Ananda Mukherjee of the area fractured his right leg six months ago. As he said: "My family members told me to stay at home due to my illness. But I was amazed how carefully the Civic Volunteers escorted me to the pandals."
 
Three such free plying Toto electric vehicles have been floated by the police at Indpur for the purpose. As stated Vaivab Tiwari, Superintendent of Police, Bankura: "The initiative has earned much appreciation and has helped to build a congeniality with the citizen." He added: "This will continue till the puja ends."
