Food on Wheels for rail passengers

In a major passenger-friendly initiative aimed at improving station amenities and overall travel experience, Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has launched Mobile Food Vans at key stations across the division. The initiative reflects a strong passenger-first approach, focusing on hygiene, accessibility, affordability and service quality in line with modern railway service standards.

Under this initiative, Mobile Food Vans have been made operational  at Asansol, Durgapur and Jasidih railway stations. These specially designed mobile units provide freshly prepared, quality food in a clean and well-regulated environment, ensuring improved hygiene standards and convenient access to safe and hygienic food for passengers during their journey and waiting time at stations and Strategically positioned across station premises, the Mobile Food Vans ensure easy accessibility for passengers without requiring them to leave the station area. 

The introduction of Mobile Food Vans has further strengthened catering services in the division and contributed positively towards non-fare revenue generation, alongside improving passenger amenities.

Asansol Division continues to adopt innovative, passenger-centric and service-oriented measures aimed at enhancing comfort, convenience and overall passenger experience, ensuring that railway services remain efficient, modern and responsive to passenger needs.
