Today,(18/09/25) the Indian National Congress embarked on a search for new talent in Durgapur and completed an interview-based spokesperson nomination process called "Mukhpatra Sandhan" to search for a party spokesperson.

 

This spokesperson nomination process, which started for the first time in West Bengal among all the States of India, with interested persons from all levels of workers and supporters who believe in the ideals and ideology of the National Congress. "Mukhpatra Sandhan" search for a party spokesperson held on15th and 16th September. After the preliminary selection, the second selection phase has been divided into five zones. Among them, the interview-based nomination process for Zone No. 3 with the districts from West Burdwan, East Burdwan, Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia and Jhargram districts is being held at the West Burdwan District Congress Office at Shaheed Shelly Ghosh Bhavan, Benachity Steel Market, Durgapur, completed today on thursday, 18/09/2025.

About 50 people participated in this nomination process. AICC spokesperson Angshuman Sai, Pradesh Congress spokesperson Chandan Ghosh Chowdhury and West Burdwan District Congress President Debesh Chakraborty were present at the second selection round in Durgapur. This selection process is conducted in three stages. This selection is finalized based on face-to-face interviews on Indian history and nationalism, secularism, their understanding of Indian culture and traditions, their tone of voice and style of speech, and a final group discussion. The selection process for the final round in Kolkata has been completed from today's qualifying round. Those who qualify for this round will have the opportunity to appear in the final round in Kolkata on 22/09/2025.

 

Regarding this spokesperson search process, District Congress President Debesh Chakraborty said, "as per Rahul Gandhi's plan, the National Congress is trying to bring Congress workers from the most marginalized areas of India to leadership positions according to their qualifications through this method. Which will give strength to secular forces like Congress to fight against reactionary and divisive forces like BJP.
