DVC DTPS under 'Swachhata Gyan Yatra', Organized 'Prabhat Pheri' & Cleanliness Awareness Speech Competition

'Prabhat Pheri' (Morning Procession) and Cleanliness Awareness Speech Competition Organized at DVC DTPS under 'Swachhata Gyan Yatra' . Various cleanliness awareness programs were organized at the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) Durgapur Thermal Power Station (DTPS) to mark the 'Swachhata Gyan Yatra' (Cleanliness Knowledge Journey). As part of this initiative, students from the DVC School took out a 'Prabhat Pheri' (morning procession) starting from Maya Bazar, passing through the colony area, and culminating at the DTPS plant. Through this procession, the schoolchildren raised public awareness regarding cleanliness, hygiene, and a clean environment.
Additionally, a cleanliness awareness speech competition on the theme of 'Cleanliness and Hygiene' was organized for the schoolchildren at the DVC School. Students participated enthusiastically, effectively presenting their views on the importance of cleanliness, personal hygiene, and the creation of a clean school, home, and society. The competition was conducted in two categories: Junior and Senior.
Addressing the gathering, Shri N. V. Ramana, Chief General Manager and Project Head, DVC DTPS, stated that the children of DVC School performed a significant task by spreading awareness about cleanliness in society through the 'Prabhat Pheri'. He emphasized the need to incorporate the pledge—"Neither will we create litter, nor will we allow others to do so"—into our daily lives. Appreciating the ideas presented by the children during the speech competition, he noted that all participants delivered excellent and impactful speeches on the subject of cleanliness and hygiene.
In his address, Shri Samir Kumar Saha, Deputy General Manager (Administration), DVC DTPS, remarked that the 'Prabhat Pheri' and speech competition—organized with the participation of DVC DTPS employees, as well as DVC School teachers and students—played a vital role in raising awareness about cleanliness. He stated that the practice of cleanliness should not be confined to the school alone but should be consistently maintained in every individual's daily life, home, school, society, and city. He described the program as highly commendable and expressed happiness over its success.
