The grand festival of "Chaiti Chhath," a festival of unwavering faith and belief, is being celebrated with great fervor and joy today across Asansol Industrial belt of south bengal. As the red glow of the Sun God moved towards the sunset, the entire region with traditional Chhath songs like "Kaanch Hi Bans Ke Bahangiya" and "Ugay Je Suraj Dev."

 

The Chhath Ghats of Asansol Industrial belt of south bengal have been decorated like heaven. The fragrance of flowers and the wafting of incense sticks have imbued the atmosphere with a transcendental purity. Standing in sacred water bodies, Chhath devotees, observing a rigorous fast, offered "Sandhya Arghya" (evening offering) to the setting sun, praying for child happiness, family prosperity, and world well-being.

 

This year, a unique confluence of devotion and service was witnessed at Kalla Prabhu Chhath Ghat in Asansol. As every year, the district's prominent social worker, Krishna Prasad, made extensive and appropriate arrangements for Chhath devotees and pilgrims. Under his guidance, special attention was paid to lighting, security, and cleanliness at the ghat, making it easier for the thousands of devotees who visited to witness this divine moment. The huge crowd gathered on the ghats is a proof that even in the era of modernity, our cultural roots are very deep.

 

This ritual of devotion, sacrifice, and penance not only purifies the mind but also conveys a message of social unity. Today, this sacred land of Kalla Prabhu Chhath Ghat in Asansol is radiant with the radiance of worship of Lord Sun.This grand festival inspires us to protect nature and live a virtuous life.
