CLW attracts world attention in New Delhi international fair

Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), as it is known for the past 75 years, the leading railway locomotive manufacturer of the world, has been the flagship production unit of Indian Railways. CLW has remained pioneer in turning out electric locomotives to international standards, providing safe and comfortable journey for the railway passengers. CLW, thus plays a key role in making Indian Railway’s self reliance in the field of electric locomotive production, becoming a prime mover to the Indian economy.

Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), presented itself brilliantly at the International Trade Fair in New Delhi. The demonstration of CLW's technological expertise and innovative power of locomotive in front of the developed countries of the world has received a special response.

Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), exhibited its eading railway locomotives in the16th International Railway Equipment Exhibition held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from October 15th to 17th 2025. The WAG-9HC, WAP-5 push-pull aerodynamic and WAG-9HC twin electric engines became the focus of the world interest.

The 75-years history of glorious journey of the Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), was displayed with great skill at this international-level fair. This factory is also reinforcing the slogan of "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (Self-reliant India) by manufacturing high-quality railway engines through its own innovative technology.

Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar and member H. Malhotra attended the exhibition of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), on different days of this fair.

Chief Electrical Engineer (Design) Harish Mittal, Public Relations Officer Chitrasen Mondal, Deputy General Manager Uttam Kumar Maiti, Deputy CMM Kumar Paramanand, SEE Ashish Kumar, Sunil Kumar and many others were present to showcase CLW's components and engines to the world.
