Just a day after the NDA's robust victory in Bihar Assembly Election, MP, Asansol Shatrughan Sinha elected on a Trinamul Congress ticket surprised both - his party leadership and his voters as well when he publicly hailed the people of the neighbouring state for giving another term to the JD(U)-BJP alliance in power. He also congratulated Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar in a lavish praise.

On Saturday Sinha posted on X-handle:  “Congratulations! To the people of our Bihar for getting the Govt they deserve, voted for & the leadership of the most admired, gentleman politician, @NiteshKumar for being Bihar’s longest-serving, trusted, tried, tested & successful CM.”

Referring to Mr Kumar, he further added: “He seems to have lived upto people's expectations. Kudos to all the people/ parties around him. God Bless & congratulations to all. Jai Bihar! Jai Hind!” Shatrughan hailed from Patna, Bihar.

Sinha also tagged his party and its supremo Mamata Banerjee among other INDIA bloc leaders in his post.

Prior to joining the Trinamul Congress in March, 2022, Sinha had joined the Congress in 2019 deserting the BJP. The vetteran actor turned Congress leader Sinha - the Bihari Babu of Indian politics had shocked his party men when praised and congratulated JP Nadda for being appointed as the national President of the BJP on 23 January, 2020.

After he praised Nitish, many recollected his similar gestures for Nadda. The veteran TMC leadership hasn't passed any comment on this till Saturday late evening, but a section already has disapproved to label Sinha's post to be tagged praise worthy. The MP, Bardhaman Durgapur, Kirti Azad too has maintained a safe distance from Sinha's post. Azad also hailed from Bhagalpur, Bihar, incidentally.
