Automatic Vending Manchines Installed at Durgapur Railway Station

In another passenger-friendly initiative, Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has taken a big step towards ensuring comfort and convenience for rail users by introducing Automatic Vending Machines (AVMs) at Durgapur Station. Out of the three AVMs successfully e-auctioned and monetized, two have already started functioning from 10.11.2025, offering passengers an all-new way to enjoy quick, hygienic, and cashless service.

These state-of-the-art vending machines provide 24×7 access to a wide range of hygienically packed food items, snacks, and beverages. Designed with a UPI-based digital payment interface, the machines make transactions simple, fast, and contactless—helping passengers save time and avoid queues, especially during rush hours or late-night journeys.

The introduction of these AVMs reflects Asansol Division’s commitment to modernizing passenger amenities and bringing technology driven solutionsto enhance the travel experience.

With the introduction of these AVMs, Durgapur Station has taken another stride toward becoming a smart, clean, and passenger-centric station. This initiative embodies Indian Railways’ continuous focus on innovation, digital transformation, and customer delight.
