Alumni Meet ‘DEJAVU-2026’ Rekindles Nostalgia at DAV Model School, Durgapur

The auditorium of DAV Model School, Durgapur came alive with memories and melodies as the institution hosted its much-awaited Alumni Meet – DEJAVU-2026 on Saturday evening. From the batch of 1987 to 2015, former students returned to their alma mater, joined by superannuated teachers and distinguished guests, making the occasion a vibrant confluence of past and present.
The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the soulful rendition of the DAV Gaan, setting a tone of reverence and pride. A welcome song by the school choir followed, ushering in an evening steeped in nostalgia. The cultural segment featured a musical bouquet – Timeless Tagore and Satrangi – whose lilting notes filled the hall with warmth and emotion, leaving the audience spellbound.
 
Adding to the grandeur was the presence of Mrs. Uma Sen, the school’s first Principal and the teachers of the school who now heads several DAV Institutions. Their return to the campus was met with heartfelt applause, symbolizing the enduring bond between the institution and its torchbearers.  
 
In her address, Ms. Papiya Mukherjee, Principal cum Regional Officer, DAV Institutions West Bengal Zone, reflected on the school’s rich legacy since its inception in 1975. She emphasized the pivotal role the institution has played in shaping education in the industrial township of Durgapur, and lauded the achievements of its alumni across diverse spheres.
A special highlight was the virtual performance by alumni residing abroad, which lent the evening a global dimension and underscored the far-reaching impact of the school’s legacy.  
 
The programme drew to a close with a vote of thanks, leaving behind echoes of camaraderie and pride. DEJAVU-2026 was not merely a reunion, but a celebration of shared heritage, rekindled friendships, and the timeless spirit of DAV Model School, Durgapur.
