A Gang, Rape, Condoms, a Forest, Grills and a Departure

One Friday, she's 'gang raped', allegedly.

Another Friday, she's 'fit and fine' for a 225 km road journey, her medical college claimed.

The girl's departure amidst the confinement of her 'boyfriend' raised another question   - who's relieved now - the girl, the hospital, or the police?

The IQ City Medical College director, Sudarshana Gangulee, in her official statement, claimed this afternoon: "A comprehensive review by our team of expert doctors found her deemed fit for discharge and the assessment was duly discussed with her parents before safe discharge." The discharged girl, according to the college sources, was shifted to Jaleshwar today itself."

The Odhisa Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who reportedly was keeping in touch with the victim's father consistently, had already offered a berth for the girl at the Bhuvaneswar Medical College to help continue her further studies.

The Odhisa girl 'rescued' from inside a peri-urban forest about a km from her college campus by her boyfriend, on Tuesday, however, had altered her versions where she'd claimed that Wasif Ali whom she'd accompanied with to the woods in the odd prohibited hours, had 'molested' her, which led to the boy's arrest after the police, significantly found his statements 'inconsistent' during the reconstruction of the crime scene the same day evening.

The same police incidentally had claimed that the victim's boyfriend was cooperating well in the investigation processes and the girl, from the day one of the incident hadn't made any adverse statements about the boy, and had 'no complaint' against the same Wasif as well.

Then, what made the police find Wasif on the wrong side, or the victim girl who voluntarily had ventured into the forest in the prohibited evening hours with the boy to change her stance - still remain unanswered and frustration looms high in the state of the art sharp geometric corridors of the medical college hostels - 'why did the girl chose a switch over suddenly!'

Was it out of hyper 'racial' politics, or high-end policing, or her 'trick' to buy an escape velocity to overcome the ensuing traumatic scenes decorating dreadlocks, the IQ City Medical College students continued to speculate on the day of her discharge today.

The police, according to the sources, recovered a condom packet from the place of the crime scene. Besides, 11 sealed packs of the same condom brand were seized from inside Wasif's hostel room. "It simply suggests that he had accompanied the girl student to the jungle with her full consent and confidence for a safe sex," the students subscribed.

The Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate, meanwhile, has pleaded to hire the expertise of Bivas Chatterjee  - an expert on cyber law to plead as the Special Public Prosecutor of the alleged gang rape case. Yesterday, Chatterjee arrived at the New Township Police Station to take stock of the situation and discuss the matter with the police team headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Durgapur, Abhishek Gupta. The Investigating Officer of the case Gautam Biswas, Officer In Charge of the New Township Police Station Nasreen Sultana also shared their findings and observations with Chatterjee. The Commissioner of Police, Sunil Chowdhury, meanwhile confirmed: "The medico-legal examination of the victim girl suggests that the sample of a single male could be gathered," which, the experts claimed: "Suggests that no physical gang rape had occurred at the 'crime scene' on last Friday.'
