58th All India Railway Shooting Championship in Asansol

The 58th All India Railway Shooting Competition commenced with great enthusiasm at the Asansol Rifle Club on Saturday. Organized by the CLW Sports Association (Chittaranjan), the event has brought together some of the finest sharpshooters from across the Indian Railways.

A total of 130 shooters from various railway zones and production units are participating in this prestigious championship, which will run till 5th November. The opening ceremony, held today (Saturday), witnessed the presence of several senior railway officials and dignitaries who formally inaugurated the competition. Participants geared up to showcase their skills in different shooting disciplines over the next few days.

According to organizers, the valedictory and award ceremony will be held on the concluding day at the Indoor Stadium of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW). The General Manager of CLW along with other top railway officials are expected to grace the occasion and felicitate the winners.

Speaking about the event, a senior CLW official said, “The All India Railway Shooting Competition is not just a sporting event — it’s a celebration of precision, discipline, and the sporting excellence that Indian Railways stands for. The championship continues to promote sportsmanship and unity among railway employees, serving as a platform to identify and encourage talented marksmen representing different railway zones."
