Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Eastern Railway continues its dedicated efforts to ensure the safety and dignity of passengers, particularly women and children. Through sustained vigilance and coordinated action, RPF has achieved notable success under Operation “AAHT” (Action Against Human Trafficking) and Operation “Nanhe Faristey” during the period from 1st January to October 2025.

Under Operation “AAHT”, RPF detected 23 cases, rescued 108 trafficked persons including 92 juveniles and 16 adults, and arrested 45 human traffickers across Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, and Malda Divisions.

During the same period, under Operation “Nanhe Faristey”, RPF rescued 976 children in need of care and protection — including 591 boys and 385 girls. Of these, Howrah Division rescued 389 children, Asansol Division rescued 280, Malda Division rescued 191, and Sealdah Division rescued 116. All rescued children were handed over to the Child Helpline and Child Welfare Committees for their proper care and rehabilitation.

These rescues were made possible through proactive patrolling, intelligence-based operations, and close coordination with the Government Railway Police (GRP), NGOs, and other child protection agencies.

Eastern Railway remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting vulnerable sections of society and ensuring a safe and secure railway environment for all.
