Railway Protection Force  personnel of Asansol Division rescued four minor boys during a special drive conducted under “Operation Nanhe Faristey” at Asansol railway station on Saturday evening.

At about 19:30 hrs., the RPF team, during routine checking of the general coach of Train No. 19436 on Platform No. 2, found the minors travelling alone in suspicious circumstances. On questioning, the boys—aged between 14 and 15 years and belonging to Jamui, Patna and Banka districts of Bihar—revealed that they were on their way to Surat and Ahmedabad to meet friends.

As they were travelling without any guardian and considering the associated risks, the RPF detrained them to ensure their safety.

The rescued minors were subsequently handed over to the Railway Child Help Desk after due formalities for counselling and further care.

The prompt intervention by the RPF team reflects the unwavering commitment of Indian Railways to ensuring the safety of children and maintaining a secure environment across railway stations and trains.
