3 kids crushed to death by speeding train in Murshidabad

Correspondent, Behrampore: Three kids were crushed to death while trying to cross the Railway tracks at Nimtita Railway Station on Sunday afternoon. Another victim kid was shifted to the hospital in critlical condition.

The locals at Nimtita of Shamsergunj exploded in protest alleging that the kids fell victim of acute negligence by the Railway authorities. The locals also staged protest demanding immediate installation of an over bridge at the location.

The underpass of the Nimtita Railway Station remains submerged since over s fortnight causing severe inconvenience to the local residents. As a result, the local residents are forced to dare to cross the Railway tracks to reach the other side.

Four kids of Shibgram near Nimtita also were crossing the track when a speeding train suddenly gushed in. The eyewitnesses said that the panicked and confused kids couldn't estimate, on which if the tracks the 'through' train was passing and fell victim of the circumstance.

Railway authorities, considering the gravity of the scene sought for police assistance for protection.

Movement of trains was suspended on the track where the kids died.
