2 Constable job aspirants booked with pre-answered papers
A pair of candidates of Constable recruitment exam were arrested with answer scripts from a Katwa Centre and a village away from the centre here by the police yesterday and one of them was sent to police remand for three days by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court in Katwa today.
Both - the candidates, the police suspect, were beneficiaries of a racket involved in selling question papers secretly.
At Dainhat Valika Vidyalaya exam centre in Katwa, one candidate Sutapa Haldar of Kulsona village in Mongalkote Police Station area was apprehended after answer scripts matched with the question paper served in the exam were recovered from her socks. On interrogation, Sutapa told police that she had procured the papers from one Zakir Mondal of Multi village in Katwa. Zakir also had appeared in the exam from Purbasthali Valika Vidyalaya in Kalna. Both - Sutapa and Zakir were trainees of a coaching centre in Katwa town since over a year.
Sutapa told police that Zakir had provided her with the question paper and the answer scripts. The police raided Zakir's residence at Multi village after the last midnight hours and the officers were shocked after examining Zakir's cell phone. The police said that several question papers were retrieved from Zakir's WhatsApp account. The police suspect that a number of persons were involved in pilfering question papers.
On last 30 November, the police busted a racket selling question papers of West Bengal Constable Recruitment Exam - 2025 from a tent erected at Kalamdanga village in Budbud of East Burdwan. Three kingpins of the Constable job racket - Sanju Sarkar, Sujit Adhikari and Kaushik Chatterjee were arrested initially from the Burdwan Junction Railway Station platforms followed by the arrest of seven others from the Budbud tent. The Dhanbad police in Jharkhand also had arrested 17 persons comprising some brokers and candidates in connection with the Constable job sale, incidentally.
