10 die in Kishore Kumar's district as trolley carrying Durga idol fell into river

At least 10 persons met a drowning death after a tractor-trolley carrying 14 devotees fell off a small bridge into the Abna River in Jamli village of Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh today. 
 
The devotees were returning from Durga idol immersion when the tragic mishap occurred. Rescue and relief operations, according to the district administration official, were still underway. The district administration and local villagers actively involved in the search operations, the police said. So far, 10 bodies have been recovered, and efforts continue to find the remaining missing people.
MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. He announced 4 lakh rupees financial aid for each family of the deceased and instructed that injured individuals receive proper medical care at nearby hospitals.
 
Khandwa SP Manoj Rai said the tragedy occurred around 5 pm when the vehicle, parked on the makeshift bridge, fell into the deep lake at the meeting point of Abna river.
 
Actor turned playback singer Kishore Kumar incidentally was born in the city of Khandwa on August 4, 1929. Fans and officials in Khandwa continue to celebrate his birth anniversary and pay tribute at his memorial, a testament to the enduring connection he had with his hometown. Kishore spent his childhood before moving to Mumbai.
