Union Minister J. P. Nadda Inaugurates Key Medical Facilities at AIIMS Kalyani

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemical & Fertilisers, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, today inaugurated several major healthcare facilities at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of advanced medical facilities in West Bengal. The departments inaugurated include that of  Radiation Oncology, the Trauma and Emergency Medicine and a modern Pneumatic Tube System, designed to improve operational efficiency and patient care. The Union Minister of State for Education & DoNER, Shri Sukanta Majumdar and MP, Ranaghat, Shri Jagannath Sarkar were also present on the occasion.
 
During the visit, Shri Nadda also attended an administrative review meeting with senior officials and faculty members of the Hospital  to assess institutional progress. He conducted an extensive inspection of the Out Patient Department (OPD) and In Patient Department (IPD), observing first-hand how healthcare services are being delivered and interacted with patients to understand their experiences.
 
The Union Minister also engaged with the students, healthcare workers, and nursing staff,  for reviewing the academic and clinical training practices to assess how future medical professionals are being trained at the institute. He  interacted with the doctors and faculty members, listened to their requirements and took note of the issues raised.
 
The visit by the Union Minister served as a reassurance of the Central Government’s continued commitment to strengthening public healthcare infrastructure and ensuring the availability of the best-in-class medical facilities in West Bengal.
 
His interactions with the patients, students, doctors, and healthcare workers reflected a comprehensive review of the service delivery, medical education, and institutional functioning at AIIMS Kalyani.
 
The visit reaffirmed the Government’s commitment on enhancing tertiary healthcare, improving emergency and oncology services and supporting high-quality medical education and patient-centric care in the region.
