Guv praise Modi's Atmanirbhar Bharat at NIT alumnae summit

"West Bengal has immense industrial potentiality and that needs further exploration," claimed C V Anand Bose, the Governor at the National Institute of Technology campus in Durgapur today, in the sidelines of a summit on Friday afternoon.
 
 
Governor Bose mesmerized the fully packed auditorium while delivering for nearly 20 minutes. His officials, before his address, declared that this year's Governor's Award will be conferred by His Excellency to the NIT, Durgapur for it's outstanding performance over the years.
 
The Governor, the Union Minister of State for Education, Sukanta Majumdar attended the inaugural session of the 'Academic–Industry & Alumni Interaction Summit 2025' organised by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), NIT Durgapur, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Summit is themed 'Industry 4.0' with the sub-theme as 'The Engine of Viksit Bharat 2027.'
 
 
Governor Bose said: "India is set to emerge as the world's third largest economic power and such initiatives like academia industry and alumni summits have become highly essential." He added: "It's a transformative metamorphosis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought large scale transformations through his Atmanirbhar Bharat programme that includes infrastructure development, Green Energy, Robotics and Space Research leadership." 
 
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture across higher educational institutions. Through its structured framework, IIC bridges the gap between academia and industry, promotes research-driven entrepreneurship, and nurtures the spirit of creative problem-solving among students and faculty.
 
 
Majumdar, the Minister described how Bengal contributed to the development and growth of the country in the past. He referred the names of stalwart Bengali scientists, entrepreneurs and literary laurels like Jagdish Chandra Bose, Prafulla Chandra Roy and Rabindranath Tagore to explain their contributions in shaping industrial resurgence of the country. He stressed the need to narrow down the gap between the laboratories and the factories for speeding up growth. He also said: "We are now standing on the jumping pad  before diving into the path of further growth."
 
The two-day Summit, as explained the Director, NIT, Durgapur Arvind Choubey: "Serves as a dynamic confluence of academia, industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and alumni, converging to advance the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 through innovation-led development."
