In a commendable step towards strengthening technology-enabled learning in government primary schools, the Rotary Club of Asansol Greater donated a smart board to Jamuria Namopara Free Primary School on 8th February 2026, marking the launch of a fully functional smart classroom initiative at the institution.

This forward-looking initiative aims to enhance the overall quality of education for all students, with special emphasis on children from economically weaker sections and marginalized tribal communities. The introduction of digital learning tools is expected to make classroom teaching more interactive, engaging, and learner-friendly, while effectively bridging the digital divide at the primary level. The smart classroom will also encourage higher enrolment, regular attendance, and promote STEM education along with essential 21st-century learning skills among young learners.
The initiative aligns closely with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes technology integration, experiential learning, and equitable access to quality education from the foundational stage.

The smart classroom was formally inaugurated in the presence of Rotary District Governor Rotarian Dr. Kameshwore Singh Elangbam, President of the Rotary Club of Asansol Greater Rotarian Mr. Sachindranath Ray, along with other Rotary members, teachers, parents, educationists, and local dignitaries—reflecting Rotary’s strong commitment to inclusive and quality education.

During the programme, the Rotary District Governor highly praised the overall development of the school. He commended the dedication and sincere efforts of the teachers and specially appreciated Head Teacher Mr. Deep Narayan Nayak for his continuous and committed work towards institutional improvement. The Governor remarked that the school’s academic environment, teaching-learning practices, and co-curricular activities were truly commendable, and described Jamuria Namopara Free Primary School as a model of positive growth in government primary education. He also assured continued cooperation and support for future educational initiatives.

Welcoming the initiative, Head Teacher Mr. Deep Narayan Nayak expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club for its generous and visionary support towards government education. He stated that the smart classroom would inspire regular school attendance, encourage continuous learning, reduce dropout rates, and significantly improve academic outcomes.
He added that such digital interventions strongly support NEP 2020’s focus on joyful, learner-centric, and fear-free education in the early years.

Addressing the gathering, Rotary Club President Rotarian Mr. Sachindranath Ray shared that he was deeply encouraged by the enthusiasm of the students and the active involvement of parents in their children’s education. Emphasizing the growing importance of technology in modern education, he noted that the initiative was undertaken to ensure that students of government schools are not deprived of the benefits of digital learning and modern educational systems.

Adding a strong human touch to the event, an Adivasi grandmother Kuheli Kora expressed her immense happiness and gratitude, stating that such digital facilities in a government primary school were beyond her imagination. She thanked the Rotary Club and the teachers for caring deeply about the future of tribal children and giving them equal learning opportunities.

A Class 3 student, Ankit Kora, of the school also shared her joy, saying that learning through the smart board made lessons more interesting and easier to understand. She happily expressed that she now feels more excited to attend school every day.

The programme was further enriched by the presence of several respected educationists and school representatives, including Education Friend (Shiksha Bandhu) Mr. Dilip from Jamuria–I Circle, Head Teacher Mr. Lakshmi Narayan Ruidas of Tilka Majhi Adivasi Primary School, Head Teacher Mr. Sanjay Mondal of Kendulia Primary School, teacher Mr. Asim Majhi from Berala School, and teachers Mr. Pratap Pal and Mr. Arindam Panda from Sirishdanga School. Their presence highlighted the spirit of collaboration and shared commitment towards strengthening primary education in the region.

This collaborative initiative stands as a shining example of community partnership between civil society and public education institutions, promoting inclusive, future-ready, and technology-enabled education at the grassroots level, and opening new avenues of learning for the young students of Jamuria Namopara Primary School—fully reflecting the core objectives of the National Education Policy 2020.
