In near future the entire students of the DAV schools will enjoy the blessings of 'Bagless Education' across the country, believes Padmashree academic researcher Dr Punam Suri who holds as the president of the whole DAV collective.

Dr Punam addressed 1500 teaching faculties of the entire DAV schools this evening at the National Institute of Technology auditorium.

A 'Bagless Day' in school, promoted by India's National Education Policy, 2020, is a designated day (often 10 per year for grades 6-8) where students leave heavy textbooks at home to focus on experiential, hands-on learning and to reduce academic stress and foster creativity and real-world skills.

Dr Suri said: "We have already pursued 'Bagless Day' in whole DAV schools for the primary students, and are ambitious to introduce the same for the entire senior classes too with further technological advancements." He added: "Hopefully, we'll be able to secure this sooner."

While addressing to the teachers he insisted: "The very essence of every human existence is to imbibe the good and discard the evil snd this philosophy was what formed the foundation of the ethos and values of DAV." He preached: "Noble thoughts, sincere behaviour and food procured through honesty makes a man complete and that brings peace, integrity and prosperity. The teachers should follow this."

About religious fanaticism that has gripped the entire political system of the country, he said: "What the people exhibit these days is not what the religion actually says. They are using religion for their gains, which is not holistic."

Dr Suri also is the Chancellor of DAV University and President, DAV College Management Committee. He is a person with a mission to contribute to society through the pursuit of education.

Dr Suri has always believed in the Arya Samaj and their principles of social reforms. His grandfather Mahatma Anand Swami was an eminent writer and Gandhian. So, right from childhood, he received a broad-based education which helped him to think differently.

Punam Suri's contributions to education centering on expanding the DAV network, modernizing teaching with technology, integrating value-based Arya Samaj principles, fostering character building through initiatives like Charitra Nirman, and promoting social reforms, all while serving as national President of DAV.
