Acharya P.C. Ray Memorial Annual Programme in DAV
The Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Memorial Annual Programme – 2025 was organized by the Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Science Society, Durgapur, in association with DAV Model School, Durgapur. The event was held within the school premises and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various schools of the region.
The day-long programme stood as a celebration of scientific curiosity, innovation, and the enduring legacy of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray, the eminent scientist, educationist, and visionary whose life continues to inspire generations of learners.
The event was graced by eminent dignitaries from NIT Durgapur, who also served as the esteemed judges for the various competitive events. The programme commenced with a floral tribute to Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray, followed by the auspicious chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, invoking wisdom and enlightenment.

The inaugural session featured a series of enlightening addresses by distinguished guests. Dr. Utpal Debnath, General Secretary of the Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Science Society, formally inaugurated the programme and highlighted its objectives, emphasizing the importance of nurturing scientific temperament among young learners. Prof. Pathik Kumbhakar, Dean, Department of Physics, NIT Durgapur, in his inspiring speech, urged the students to pursue science with passion, perseverance, and a spirit of exploration. Shri Suvoloke Sarkar, Senior Vice President, Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd., commended the organizing team for undertaking such purposeful initiatives that help sustain the flame of curiosity and scientific learning in the minds of budding scientists.

Ms. Papiya Mukherjee, Principal-cum-Regional Officer, DAV Institutions, West Bengal Zone, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Acharya P. C. Ray Science Society for collaborating with the school in this noble endeavour. She appreciated the wholehearted participation of students from different schools and lauded their enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for learning — describing it as a true tribute to the great scientist, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray.
The event comprised a series of engaging and intellectually stimulating activities, including Poster Competition, Learning Science through Experiments, Science Model and Activity Competition, Extempore, and Quiz Competition. Each event offered students a dynamic platform to showcase their creativity, conceptual understanding, and analytical skills, while deepening their appreciation for the essence of scientific inquiry.
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, leaving every participant motivated to view science not merely as an academic subject, but as a way of thinking, questioning, and understanding the world — truly echoing the vision and legacy of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray.
